The Evansville Literacy Coalition is a broadly based, non-profit community organization whose purpose is to encourage communication among organizations and individuals involved in the fight against functional literacy.
The organization became a 501 (c) (3) in January 1989.
ELC's signature event is Family Literacy Day which is held in the fall of each year.
